My Life: The Balancing act

25 years married and 4 kids later, I wear many hats! I hold wife and mom closest to my chest. My days are a mix of ministry meetings, conference calls, cheering from the sidelines, and making sure my family still feels my presence no matter how busy I get. A well known "secret" that drives me is that I don’t strive for perfection but I strive for balance.
Balance, for me, isn’t about giving equal time to everything. It’s about giving the right time to what matters in the moment. Some days, ministry calls for my all. Some days I'm working a ton of hours on my job! Other days, I’m in full mom mode or being intentional about dating my husband. And at the center of it all, I stay rooted in prayer because without God’s grace, none of this works.
I’ve learned that living what I teach means showing my family that faith isn’t just preached on Sunday; it’s lived on Monday at work, Tuesday when visiting my adult children in LA, Thursday when I drove my kids to school, and Saturday on the ride at Great America! Balance is saying yes to purpose while also saying yes to being present for the people who mean the most.
To every woman trying to do it all grace yourself. Balance doesn’t mean you won’t stumble. It means you’ll keep realigning your steps with the God who orders them.
How do you balance?
